The Fire of God

I do not understand the mystery of grace — only that it meets us where we are and does not leave us where it found us.” ― Anne Lamott
I THANK GOD that He never leaves us where we are
Once at a prayer meeting about 25 years ago, we were singing “Let the fire fall.” Suddenly ( I love suddenlies ) I heard an amused voice with in me chuckling,

” You don’t have a clue what you are saying with this song but I am going to take you at your word.”

When the light of God streams into us, it pushes the blackness out. This truth is something I have to cling to when life becomes bleak or when I look like I am backsliding, to use a Protestant term.
Mercy and Grace

Too often I try to become perfect when in fact I only muck things up. Striving is a pagan concept. A Christian surrenders to the grace and mercy of God, then watches Him work within his heart and soul as well as all those around him.
Listening to the voice of God
YOU THINK THAT YOU ARE HELPING
BUILD MY CHURCH ON EARTH WITH ALL YOUR RUNNING AROUND.
YOU ARE HINDERING ME,
NOT HELPING ME.
ALL I WANT
ALL I NEED
IS FOR YOU TO STAND AT THE FOOT OF THE CROSS
AND ALLOW THE FIRE OF MY SON’S LOVE
TRANSFORM YOU INTO HIS PRESENCE ON EARTH.
THEN YOU WILL BE BUILDING MY CHURCH ON EARTH

  1. Wow.
You are a great source of Grace.
I appreciate the reminders to get things right and let God work within me instead of my working and hoping he’s pleased.
    Hmmmm
    Blessings and peace this week…

Sure sounds like the Holy Spirit when He talks to me, too.
