The power  within us is all His.

Christian spirituality, inner transformation and contemplation

are not at all what we first imagine them to be.

We initially begin this inner journey with earnest striving,

depending on our own discipline and will power.

We all fail miserably because striving

is sort of like an ant straining to turn himself into a man.

When we admit defeat,

then God has a chance to save us from ourselves.

Father Anthony de Mello S.J.

understands and has a natural ability to articulate

the utter simplicity of our life in His Spirit.

The Master insisted that what he taught was nothing, what he did was nothing.  His disciples gradually

discovered that Wisdom comes to those who learn nothing, unlearn everything. That transformation is the

consequence not of something done but of something dropped.

  ~ Anthony de Mello, SJ

So HOW do we get on track. I simply must repeat Catherine De Heuk Doherty who reminds us to

“Close the wings of our intellect and open the wings of our heart”

Let go of control and quit trying to understand the inexplicable.

Open your deepest core self and watch His work in and through you

as He saves you and all those around you.

Children intuitively live and breathe in and through Him because it is simple

, so simple that our adult minds cannot comprehend.

  2. I loved this post. There is something about it which touched me, and I cannot quite put my finger on what it is. Will come back and re-read when I slow down today. Thanks for sharing and God Bless, SR
