Hail Mary, Gentle Woman

I am definitely dating myself by referring to this song but the title popped into my head today; I decided to share this beautiful modern hymn to Mary

Hail Mary, Gentle Woman by Carey Landry4bdd04c4d372a2fab5cba7493dc3c7f0 (1)

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you.
Blessed are you among women
and blest is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now
and at the hour of death. Amen.

Gentle woman, quiet light,
morning star, so strong and bright,
gentle Mother, peaceful dove,
teach us wisdom; teach us love.

1. You were chosen by the Father;
you were chosen for the Son.
You were chosen from all women
and for woman, shining one.

2. Blessed are you among women,
blest in turn all women, too.
Blessed they with peaceful spirits.
Blessed they with gentle hearts.

      1. What woman then went looking Solomon, when he said: “a perfect woman who can find?” That man skilled in fact knew the weakness of this sex, the frailty of the body, the uncertainty of the soul. But he had also read of God’s promise, and was aware of how would agree that it was won by a woman who had won through. For this with ardent admiration exclaimed: “a perfect woman who can find?”. Which means that from a woman’s hand is dependent on the salvation of us all, the recover of our condition of innocence and the victory over the enemy, we must imagine extraordinarily strong woman who is capable of a work so great. But “a perfect woman who can find?”. Solomon adds in prophecy, because you don’t seem to have asked without hope of receiving: “far superior to pearls is its value”, that is the price for it is not cowardly, neither little nor petty, and you do not pay by land but the price of this celestial “perfect woman” and not from the sky closer to Earth, because it comes from the highest heaven …

  1. This is a beautiful song. I would never have thought in a million years that I would appreciate our Blessed Mother, and now I do. I’m thankful for God working in my heart and life. I am thankful she prays for me.
