Matthew 18:2-4
2 He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. 3 And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
Nancy Schuman is hilarious. After she recieved the award, she said….
Pinch me.I have just received a newly minted Catholic Writer’s Award, fresh out of the box, from none other than Melanie Jean Juneau. And to make the whole thing even more interesting, Melanie was writing about this while I (not having a clue that any such thing was being done) sat at Mass with what I considered a ‘distraction’ suddenly popping into my head. Wouldn’t it be nice, thought I, if there were a simple, attractive, no-strings-attached-Catholic-bloggers’ award, one acknowledging really good faith-blogging. I came home, turned on the computer, and found It Had Just Been Done. Then, even as I was reeling from the timing of that, I discovered that I was actually one of the first recipients. Pinch me. The award itself is beautiful (isn’t it beautiful?!!!!?!), and I love what Melanie wrote about it. Which can be found here: https://melaniejeanjuneau.wordpress.com/2014/05/17/a-new-catholic-writing-award/ ) ‘
What a wonderful job you have done, Melanie. May this beautiful award spread far and wide!Pinch me. But not just yet. I’m not quite ready to wake up.
AND the recipients so far are
I can only drop a few pebbles into the ocean of wonderful Catholic Writers, trusting that encouragement will spread through others

Thank you so much Melanie for my nomination which I feel is, albeit generous, somewhat undeserved. Personally, if I were to nominate someone who constantly and tirelessly (is there such a word? If not, I’ve just invented it). Anyway, what was I saying before I interrupted myself? Oh yes …
I think you work very hard in maintaining not just your wonderful Blog but also the Association Blog as well as many other platforms such as Facebook, Readwave and numourous others. You are an example to us all and therefore should be nominated for this Award. Please send me a Nomination Form forthwith; or fifthwith if you have a spare Form.
God bless you for all your good works.

You’re too modest Melanie. I am very grateful for your encouragement and support of my writings; and I’m often envious of the way you write. I think you should collate a number of your posts into a book. Let me know if I can help.
God bless you and yours.

As a learning exercise this fall, I wrote two similar chapters to be part of two books ( one about Catholic mothers, the other for pro-life feminists) for free of course… ha… but I retain full copyrights. Basically, they introduce my life as the mother of a large family. Could be the start of a book. I have been watching Connie who published a very SHORT ebook as practice before her book,,, wondering if I should follow suit

I am giving a “shout-out” nomination to Mary Lenaburg, from Passionate Perseverance! Her documenting of her daughter’s life and passing has been compelling, inspirational and heart-felt. Mary draws you in with love, and you hang on every word. You laugh and cry with her; you feel her joy and pain. I’ve been following her for months now, and I have recommended to my followers to follow her as well. Her site is one of my favorites and appears as a link on my website. Her writing is that good! Take a moment and visit her FB page, and you, too, will be quickly hooked on Passionate Perseverance.
