We tend to forget how young Mary actually was, perhaps thirteen or fourteen years old. Yes, she was a young unwed mother, the perfect, powerful intercessor for the vulnerable, the unborn.
She, more than any of us understands the mystery, the sanctity of life in every womb.
The Mother of God, under one of the titles given her by the Church, is called Ark of the Covenant because she carries within her the Messiah, the fulfillment of the promises of the Old Testament.
Through the fiat of a teenager, the Word became flesh. Jn. 1: 14
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Above is a photo of a garden dedicated to the unborn with a large statue of Mary holding three tiny babies on her lap, a modern Pieta. Our Lady of Guadalupe, pray for us. The View From Camp Kreitzer.

The Church of ‘Our Lady of Expectations’ is located in San Thome (St Thomas Mount) in Chennai. India.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church
Mary gave her consent in faith at the Annunciation and maintained it without hesitation at the foot of the Cross. Ever since, her motherhood has extended to the brothers and sisters of her Son “who still journey on earth surrounded by dangers and difficulties.”28 Jesus, the only mediator, is the way of our prayer; Mary, his mother and ours, is wholly transparent to him: she “shows the way” (hodigitria), and is herself “the Sign” of the way, according to the traditional iconography of East and West.
“Our Lady of the Sign — Ark of Mercy,” was carved from wood by Stefan Niedorezo. Malgorzata Sawczuk did the gold gilding and served as conservator.

You have no idea what that means to me..I love GOOD art and cringe in the face of tacky, religious images which do not touch the unchurched

Dear Mother of 9 Children,
That is a lovely selection. G-d bless you, however my favorite Marian artistic rendering is between Carl Bloch and Mel Gibson’s Jewish Mia Morgenstern… But your selection is just beautiful, there is a lot of good sacred artwork out there! Well, pray for me and God bless you! I need many prayers…

Dear Melanie Jean,
I have seen the seated Our Lady from the Wisconsin Shrine. Where is the other beautiful standing statue of Our Lady holding the 3 babies?
I would love to have a copy of that statue for our prolife ministry. I already have a replica of the Our Lady ifGuadalupe with the Previn infants.
Christ’s peace to you,
Kathleen
