Eating Toast and Drinking Tea vs. The Body and Blood of Christ

When I eat a piece of toast and drink a cup of tea,

The tea and toast become part of me.14-12b-rapha25c325abl252c2bla2bdispute2bdu2bsaint-sacrement

When I eat His Body and drink His Blood,

I become part of Christ.

Too often

I think  I am making room for the Eucharist within the confines of my puny self.

If I surrender to reality,body_of_christ

The Eucharistic also takes me out of myself

Into reality,

Into a Life bigger than me,

Into the very life of God.
John 6:53-58 (ESV)

For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him. As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so whoever feeds on me, he also will live because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven, not like the bread the fathers ate and died. Whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.”
