THE JOY OF MOTHERING
THIS IS MY VOCATION
THIS IS MY CALL
THIS IS MY WITNESS TO THE WORLD
Melanie converted to Catholicism at 19 years old at university after Mary basically moved into her heart while she still had a Protestant brain. If Mary lives in your heart and you have a hunger for the Body and Blood of Christ in the Eucharist, there is really nowhere else to go but the Catholic Church. She struggled for about ten years to resolve theological issues but has always treasured Mary’s relationship with her.
.“Prayer is a surge of the heart, a simple look toward heaven, a cry of recognition and of love, embracing both trial and joy” (St. Therese of Lisieux).
Melanie, I am also a convert to Catholicism but not until my late fifties. It is so true about the heart and the brain. When I attended Mass one Sunday I was absolutely overwhelmed by the beauty and the truth of the liturgy. It is rooted in Scripture. The Lord truly hooked me that day and I have never been in so much peace despite circumstances that were not at all peaceful. I am extremely grateful for the journey on which the Lord has led me.
